Privacy policy

eCourierTracker has no accounts and no login. This policy describes the small amount of data the service handles, how long each item is kept, and what is never collected.

What is stored when you track a parcel

• The tracking number and carrier you submit, together with the result returned. This is cached so that repeating a search is instant and does not re-query the carrier. Cached results expire in about 30 minutes for a moving parcel and up to 7 days once it is delivered, after which the record is deleted.
• A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to enforce the rate limit that stops the free service being scraped in bulk. The raw IP address is never written to storage or to logs, and the hash cannot be reversed back into an address.

Tracking numbers are not linked to you. They are not sold, rented, shared, or used to build a profile. A tracking number by itself does not identify a person, and this service does not combine it with anything that would.

What is stored when you use the contact form

Your name, email address and message are sent to our mailbox at contact@ecouriertracker.com and stay in that mailbox. Your email address is used only to reply. It is never added to a mailing list and never passed to anyone else. Alongside the message we store a hashed IP address and a timestamp for seven days, purely to rate-limit automated submissions.

Cookies and local storage

eCourierTracker itself writes one localStorage entry, recording whether you chose the light or dark theme. It stays on your device, is never sent to the server, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Third-party services described below may set their own cookies. Those are governed by the provider that sets them, not by this policy.

Analytics and advertising

The web server keeps standard access logs, which are rotated on a short cycle.

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may set cookies or similar identifiers, and may collect usage and device data to personalise ads and measure their performance, under Google’s own privacy policy, over which eCourierTracker has no control. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and industry opt-out tools are available from the Digital Advertising Alliance and similar bodies. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.

The tracking numbers you submit are not passed to advertising or analytics services.

Third parties

To return live tracking, the number you submit is passed to a tracking-aggregation provider that holds carrier feeds. Only the tracking number and the carrier code are sent. Your IP address, your browser details and any contact details you have given are not.

Pages on this site link out to carrier websites. Once you follow such a link, that carrier’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Your rights

Because the service holds no account and no identifier that points to you, there is usually nothing personal to retrieve or erase. If you have written to us and want that correspondence deleted, email contact@ecouriertracker.com from the same address and it will be removed from the mailbox.

Children

This service is a utility for parcel recipients and is not directed at children. No age information is collected, because no account exists to collect it against.

Changes

This policy may change at any time and without prior notice. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version, and continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the revised policy. Check this page if the handling of your data matters to you.
